Bruce Street - Upgrade

MTAV is expanding its exhibition layout with a fourth module featuring a 5-road tram depot and a temporary reversing loop. All the depot pointwork and the crossover in the street is scratchbuilt from Code 100 nickel-silver rail with curve radii of 250mm and rail soldered to copper-clad PCB (Printed Circuit Board) sleepers. Thin brass strip 2.5mm wide soldered on its edge is used to form the continuous guard rail typical of tramway track, but road surfacing between the rails will only be completed once the points have been thoroughly checked for faultless operation.”

Progress pictures of the depot fan and crossover. They have been scratch built by Graeme Inglis
